Book Description:

The epic conclusion of New York Times bestselling book “Promise Me Darkness”

"I'm darkness, Maddie. Stay away from men like me. You'll only get hurt."

At one time my life was simple. Easy. But that was before the war. Now I was no longer an average college student. I was a survivor. A woman living in a ravaged world. My future was not bright and my life was far from perfect. The war had taken so much from me… but it wasn’t finished yet. It wanted more.

It wanted my heart. My soul. The one person I couldn’t live without.

It wanted Ryder Delaney. My best friend. The bad boy. The one person who could fight like no other and love me like no one else. I watched him walk away one hot summer day and I prayed he would return. I needed him like I needed air to breathe and water to drink. Without him I was lost. A light without her darkness.

Until he returns, I’ll wait for him. And I believe he will return because love is powerful…

And so is the light calling him home.

About the Author

Paige Weaver’s first passion has always been reading. Many hours were spent getting lost in love stories and adventures. That turned into a love for writing at a young age. She wrote her first book when she was a teenager and hasn’t stopped since. Thanks to pressure from family and friends, she finally decided to take the leap and self-publish. Her first book ‘Promise Me Darkness’ became a New York Times and USA Today Best Seller within a month after being released.
A native Texan who still resides in the town where she was born, Paige lives with her husband and two children. When she's not writing or reading, you can find her chasing her kids around and living her very own happily ever-after story.

REVIEW:

This book was full. It was full of action, emotions, suspense, love, tears, pain, strong characters, everything a reader would want. I have nothing to say bad about it! This book took me up for my mini reading-slump and left me with a big hunger for books : )). But let’s talk about this novel, or say sequel.

I really liked the first one, but this is more, more intense, more, more. I was so angry, sad, happy, full of hate, hope, while I’ve been reading, and from the beginning sadness surrounded me. *all you’ve read it maybe know why* So guys, this book, the things that happened and all happened to the characters was… i don;t know how to describe it, maybe they are no words. It was bad, hard, so hard, so intense, rivers of tears. I mean the war is like a apocalipse and eats all, even life from humans. Like how you can have hope when all around you is dying, from different motives.

I won’t talk too much about the action of this book, because I don’t want to give spoilers to people who haven’t read it or to who haven’t started yet the series. But you have to read them, they deserve it, every chapter/page deserve it. Read it! But the action is explosive, the suspense grabs you from the start, until the last page, with each page your eyes will grow and you will be like „omg! no, no, no! what’s happening?! no, no don’t do that! whaat?”. They were some moments in the book when I needed to stop because tears fall over, yeah I started crying. I don’t do this very often, but this book made it. The intensity of the moments is so big and is hitting you hard, you can’t feel anything, I mean you can’t stay indiferent when those people are like tearing apart.

Let’s talk about the characters. I would talk briefly and not all about them, cause I don’t want this review will be long like the book. If you want to know more about them, to meet them, you read the book, and that’s it.

Maddie is really one of my favorite characters, female, ever. I mean she’s so strong, and powerful, and she never gave up, even when everyone have lost hope. She fights for her, for her love, for Ryder, for family and friends. I have no words to say how much I like her, how I sad I’m for the things that she’s been going through *for the bad ones* and happy, for the good ones. She’s like a real woman, like how a woman or a girl should be, in my opinion, strong, realistic, she knows what she want and what she needs, and fight for it.

Ryder is… hard to say. He’s the same guy, flirting and being bad, but somehow changed. He’s more mature, more careful with what he loves, he protects the things and the people who loves and take care about them. Like Maddie, he’s a strong character and I could say that every emotion that those two feel i so real, so touchable. Their love is complexe, everything about them is like that.

About the others I won’t say too much but Gavin made me angry sometimes and I really wanted to punch him, very hard, right in the face.

I would like to end this review with one quote and maybe this will convince you more than my words to read this books.

Being with Ryder was like a roller coaster ride that never ended. There were sharp turns and
up and downs. You never knew what was waiting for you around the corner. The ride was
bumpy and sometimes rough. One moment you wanted to laugh, the next moment you
wanted to scream. But through it all, it was exhilarating and fast-paced. The ride of your life.

5/5 *and more than 5*
